The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) today officially announced the names of the athletes who will represent Bermuda at the V Commonwealth Youth Games, which are being held from 5 September to 11 September 2015 in Apia, Samoa.

Four (4) athletes will represent Bermuda in two (2) sports. They are:

Athletics:  David Darrell    Tahje Taylor    Tiara DeRosa

Squash: Susanna Armano

The above athletes, along with Chef-de-Mission Calvin Simons and officials, comprise the Bermuda team.
Commenting on the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Judy Simons, President of the BOA said, “The Commonwealth Youth Games are a fantastic opportunity for our younger athletes who may be on the path to elite status to compete internationally and test their skills against some of the best young athletes in the world. The Games will also provide these four, young Bermudians with a unique opportunity to meet and interact with peers from around the globe. We know David, Tahje, Tiara and Susanna will do us proud.”
The Samoa Commonwealth Youth Games will be the fifth iteration of the Games, the first of which were held in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2000. Bermuda first sent a team to the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia, and competed in subsequent Games in India (2008) and the Isle of Man (2011). Up to 1,000 athletes aged 14 to 18 from the 53 nations that comprise the Commonwealth are eligible to compete in the Games, which are held every four years.
