Friday August 12th will be a busy one for Bermuda’s Olympians as five athletes will compete.

First in action will be Rower Shelley Pearson, she will be on the water for the Women’s Single Sculls C/D 2nd Semi-Final 1:10pm.

Next will be Bermuda’s two Sailors Ceci Wollmann and Cameron Pimentel who will return to the Marina da Gloria waters for Day Four of the Women’s Laser Radial and Men’s Laser Sailing for races 7 & 8. Wollmann gets underway at 1:05pm, while Pimentel’s start at 1:15pm.

Rebecca Heyliger will dive into the Olympic Aquatics Stadium Pool for Heat 6 of the Women’s 50m Freestyle that is expected go off 1:17pm.

Tyrone Smith will be the final competitor on the day when he competes in the Men’s Group A Long Jump at 9:20pm.

Wollmann rough watersBoth Ceci Wollmann and Cameron Pimentel have returned to the Marina da Gloria waters in Brazil for Day Three of the Women’s Laser Radial and Men’s Laser Sailing.

The winds were much higher on Day Three, with both struggling in the conditions, however they were not the only ones as they both spent time in the water.

Both Ceci Wollmann and Cameron Pimentel have returned to the Marina da Gloria waters in Brazil for Day Two of the Women’s Laser Radial and Men’s Laser Sailing.

The winds are much lighter on day two, with both looking to make their way up the leaderboard.

After Day One Wollmann is in 33rd place with 60 points, while Pimentel is in 39th with 76 points.

Pearson Close finish

With the quality of the field in her Quarter-Final, Bermuda’s Shelley Pearson almost pulled off a special one on the Lagoa Stadium Rowing waters in Brazil.

Pearson competing in Heat 3 of the Women’s Singles Sculls race was pitted against opposition from Denmark, Zimbabwe, Canada, Nigeria and Algeria.

Twenty-five year old Pearson crossed the line fourth in her heat finishing 1.66 of a second behind the winner Fie Erichsen from Denmark who clocked 7:33.24, Person was .4 of a second behind the third place finisher Canadian Carling Zeeman, Pearson stopped the clock in 7:34.90, with Zeeman clocking 7:34.52.
