
Shelley Pearson took to the waters to compete on day two of the FISA Americas Olympic Continental Qualification Regatta in Curauma, Chile.
Pearson finished first in Semi-Final A/B 1 of the Women’s Single clocking a time of 7:46.1, which was tied for the fastest qualifying time.
Pearson’s is guaranteed a spot in the final which sees her meet the standard to Qualify for the Olympics.
Pearson speaking to www.islandstats.com following her accomplishment said, “It feels surreal but very exciting! The Semi-Final was actually a much calmer race compared to yesterday. I had a great start and just continued to push away. There’s a lot less pressure on tomorrow and I’m just excited to go out there and see what I can do.”
