With the quality of the field in her Quarter-Final, Bermuda’s Shelley Pearson almost pulled off a special one on the Lagoa Stadium Rowing waters in Brazil.

Pearson competing in Heat 3 of the Women’s Singles Sculls race was pitted against opposition from Denmark, Zimbabwe, Canada, Nigeria and Algeria.

Twenty-five year old Pearson crossed the line fourth in her heat finishing 1.66 of a second behind the winner Fie Erichsen from Denmark who clocked 7:33.24, Person was .4 of a second behind the third place finisher Canadian Carling Zeeman, Pearson stopped the clock in 7:34.90, with Zeeman clocking 7:34.52.
